Wax that thang!

On the theme of waiting.....In a world in which children skip their childhoods altogether it may not hurt to explore other methods of love before going for the big bang….

I’m referring to risks! Take them! Don’t wait! Don’t Procrastinate! We can work on this together!!!! Lord/ Lady upstairs… knows I need to! It’s always easy to put things off, seeing a friend, going to a new restaurant, etc.

What I want to encourage myself and anyone who may read this is to, look like a crazy, have people laugh at you. Though I know it’s difficult, it’ll build character. Sitting at home protected is no life at all. So explore and learn…. wax your armpits because it seems like a good idea, get hurt and get up!     I’m going to try it too!  😀

These billboards were all over LA last year and I found them hilarious.

Procrastinators Anonymous

Hello, my name is Mr. Choenes and I’m a procrastinator. So I as I previously posted, I’m back to Spain in just three weeks!!!

I came back to California to pretty much sit on a pendulum: On some days I was 100% certain I would return to the land of siestas and afternoon cervezas, on other days the calm of settling in California was oh so tempting.

Finally, I was forced to decide. I applied for my visa at the last minute possible, almost late enough that I would not get it in time to leave for Spain…. I actually still don’t have it and have to turn in some of my paperwork tomorrow. That being said, I AM on top of my shit when I’m given a structure. But left to my own devices…. I’m a hot mess!!! ofu!!!

Since I am living with my mom at the moment she witnessed my self inflicted distress, at making the decision and stress of getting the visa, firsthand. During one of my “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa” insanity moments, she asked me if I enjoyed this feeling. Initially I thought, of course not, but maybe it wasn’t the stress that I enjoyed but the final “yes, despite the odds I got shit done!!!!”

:)

Video Link to the adorable couple that made me SMILE!!!

I leave for Spain in about 3 weeks, I was laid off from my job last Friday…. which I was gonna quit anyway because 1. I was leaving for Spain  2. they were sexist pigs, and I really hope not all companies are like that. I think working there made me think less of the male population, which it shouldn’t have because I have great friends who also happen to have penises and aren’t like the people I worked with. Anywho, I saw the video which should appear on this post of the adorable elderly couple using a webcam. Apparently it has been all over the blog world already but here it is one more time.

It reminded me of my grandparents and how much they loved each other.

Robots….

Sooo my first post exposes (but not really, since you probably are aware of this danger) this weird obsession that humans, myself included, have with robots. Firstly, why are we doing this to ourselves? In some places, robots have already began replacing waitresses, I fear I’m next. I for one am not enthused by the new competition, which is already very stiff given that 3rd graders today are preparing for SAT exams and coming to steal my jobs. But I digress….

National geographic has run several articles on robots but they recently posted one in which robots (click for the article) appear HUMAN!!!!!! This Friday or Thursday during my drive to work, on the radio they played a conversation between two chatboxes. These chatboxes were only programmed to say hi and the rest would be completely up to them. They learned to speak from hours of listening to human conversation, which is also interesting given what their conversation quickly turns to. Robots cannot yet think for themselves… but is it only a matter of time? Regardless the video is amusing and I have included the link in case it does not post on the blog. Happy Watching!!!    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnzlbyTZsQY&feature=player_embedded
